Twin Falls Visit

In June Cole, Lily, Will, Barry and I made a trip up to Twin Falls.  My Aunt Lynda & Uncle Larry as well as their daughters Alyssa & Dara (and their families) were going to be visiting from Philadelphia so we knew we wanted to see them since we only get to see them every few years.  My parents drove up from California too.

We had a fantastic time and loved reconnecting with family.  As always it was great to see my grandmother as well.

Our first morning in the hotel was an exciting one.  We were getting dressed when suddenly the fire alarms started going off.  it was seriously the loudest noise ever.  So we all put our hands over our ears and had to evacuate the hotel.  Here are the pics of us as we waited outside for like 45 min. while they "cleared" the hotel.

This old guys was super excited to use his video camera. He did several up close and personal interviews with the firefighters.
After our exciting afternoon we made our way to Craters of the Moon National Monument.  We had a picnic lunch and then headed out to hike around.

The landscape was really cool and Cole especially loved it. He took a lot of pictures-- too many to show here.

Here we are hiking around...

Looking down on the rest of the family walking along the path.

Grandma enjoyed all the scenery from afar...

This is a giant "cone" the kids hiked up.  It was pretty amazing to see this "hill" covered in cinders.

The rocks looked just like melted plastic. (Very similar to the plastic toys Cole melted on the 4th of July with fireworks!)

Here we are in one of the big caves. Next time we go we are going to have to climb in more of them!

On the last day we were there we had a picnic in Grandma's back yard.  it was so nice to visit and to make some new memories. I am lucky to have a great family.
